The Bibbulmun Track is Western Australia's only long-distance walking trail and is one of the longest, continuously marked trails in Australia. It is named after a distinct Aboriginal language group, known as the Bibbulmun, who inhabited some of the areas on the south coast through which the track passes. It is marked by a stylised image of the Waugal (rainbow serpent), a spirit being from the Aboriginal Dreaming.

Opened on September 13th, 1998, the newly aligned, upgraded and extended Bibbulmun Track is one of the world's great long distance walk trails, stretching 963.1kms from Kalamunda to Albany through the heart of the scenic South West of Western Australia. Along the way 48 state-of-the-art campsites provide facilities unmatched in the southern hemisphere.
